CARE Bangladesh at America Week 2009

CARE Bangladesh participated in the US Embassy organized America Week in Rajshahi from 8-10 December 2009. America Week showcases the various ways by which the USA is building relations with Bangladesh in trade, education, health, environment and democratic governance sectors. CARE had a booth there which displayed materials on itís strategic vision focusing on the four populations groups CARE is seeking to have positive long-term impact on and its two USAID funded projects Strengthening Household Abilities for Responding to Development Opportunities and Cost of Violence against Women. There were also materials from projects funded by other American donors such as Strengthening the Dairy Value Chain and Competitive Literacy Initiate.
The US Ambassador James F. Moriarty, Minister of Civil Avation & Tourism GM Quader and USAID Head of Mission Denise Rollins visited the booth. There were also many local visitors who showed keen interest in learning about the models on display and in the work of CARE depicted through various publications on display.
