In response to COVID-19, USAID funded PRERONA project, implemented by CARE Bangladesh, is raising awareness of importance of hygiene and hand washing to combat the virus and protect the most vulnerable. Bangladesh has witnessed an increased number of children and adolescents infected with COVID-19. To promote good hygiene, PRERONA project is distributing 1,200 hygiene kits to adolescent and youth households in close proximity to targeted Multipurpose Cyclone Shelters (MPCS) in Cox’s Bazar. Under PRERONA, these MPCS which double as primary schools are undergoing infrastructure improvements to ensure a conducive teaching and learning environment for children.
