Government Exposure visit to SHOUHARDO III project

I was moved by her confidence and courage”- says Dr. Julia Moin, Deputy Secretary, LGD about a SHOUHARDO III participant, a leader of EKATA group, in Habiganj during a Government Exposure visit on 12 August 2017.

It is my pleasure to inform you that Dr. Julia Moin, Deputy Secretary, Local Government Division (LGD), Government of Bangladesh, along with Mst. Delowara Khatun, Assistant Secretary, LGD and Sheikh Anisur Rahman, Deputy Director, LGD, visited Strengthening Household Ability to Respond to Development Opportunities (SHOUHARDO) III program, CARE Bangladesh, in Ajmiriganj and Baniyachang upazillas in Habiganj district on 12 August 2017. In this visit A.K Bashir Uddin, Upazilla Chairman and Sandip Kumar Shingho, Upazilla Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Baniachang Upazilla in Habiganj district and other government officials from District, Upazilla and Union levels accompanied Dr. Julia Moin.

During her visit, Dr. Julia Moin discussed with different groups like EKATA, VDC and VSLA to learn about program progress, learning and challenges. She also made household visits to see SHOUHARDO III suggested technology and innovations. Later, she observed the complementary food distribution to pregnant and lactating mothers and spoke to them.

Dr. Julia Moin, Deputy Secretary, LGD and her team highly appreciated SHOUHARDO III interventions for the betterment of poor and extremely poor people. She also thanked USAID, CARE and DAM for the continuation of the quality work.

SHOUHARDO III program is a Development Food Security Activity Program funded by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Government of Bangladesh (GoB), implemented by CARE Bangladesh in collaboration with Local Government Division (LGD), Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.
