Naim Mahmud, WASH Officer, under WASH team of humanitarian response program is one of the frontline staff of CARE Cox’s Bazar since very beginning of COVID-19 response; providing most critical services to the vulnerable refugee community as well as host communities. Colleagues like Naim Mahmud is making all these possible.  When asked about the challenges he expresses passionately, “I am a development and humanitarian worker and this profession has taught me to extend helping hand for the distressed humanity. It is automatic and I have the feeling in core of my heart. Moreover, the encouragement, support and personal safety equipment from CARE management and leadership, has further motivated me.”

Coming from one of the most Northern district’s Rangpur, Naim is now working in most southern part of Bangladesh. Staying far away from family, and the uncertainty of not knowing when he will see them again, is hard to cope with. Yet the suffering and necessity of the vulnerable people living in the refugee camps make him forget his own pain and motivates Naim to move on.
