On 29 June 2026, CARE Bangladesh inaugurated the Waste Café at Camp 15, Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar, a youth-led initiative that reimagines waste as a resource, not a burden.

The idea is simple. The shift is powerful.

➡️ Collect. Bring. Benefit.

Community members bring segregated waste, earn exchange points, and redeem them for snacks, essentials, and select services. But it's more than an exchange point it's a youth space with a library corner, café garden, and knowledge hub. A dedicated Waste Café website was also launched to track daily impact.

Launched under CARE Bangladesh's Green Enterprise Plus project, the initiative is rooted in circular-economy principles and community-led action.

The inauguration was graced by Mr. Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner, as Chief Guest, with Md. Munibur Rahman, Camp-in-Charge of Camps 14 and 15, and Ram Das, Country Director, CARE Bangladesh, joining as Special Guests. Representatives from WFP, NGO Platform Cox's Bazar, AMAN, EasySense, development partners, media, and the Rohingya community attended.

♻️Bring waste. Get value. Build a cleaner, greener community.
